Why You Need A Buddy Book!

I’ve always kept some sort of book around where I scribble ideas, lists, notes from listening to a podcast, thoughts, goals and things I don’t want to forget. When I fill up a notebook I find myself disorganized, forgetting things and even losing sleep at night counting up things I need to do. So many of my ideas and thoughts pop up while I am washing dishes or caring for my kids and sometimes if I don’t write them down they are gone forever.
With our busy lives, no matter what the role we fill, it’s important to be able to release these things bouncing around in our heads in order to be present in the moment. After all, the present is all we have and if we are busy trying to remember things, even things that will bring us happiness, it impedes on our ability to enjoy ourselves.
The name “buddy book” has a fond meaning for me. Some of our friends were staying with us and I pulled out my book to look something up that we were talking about (health related as always). I said something and one of them thought I called it my buddy book. It stuck of course, and that same dear friend even bought me a beautiful new buddy book that was eco-friendly. The name was so fitting since they truly do add value to my life. These books all represent a time in my life, and even though I’ve never been good at keeping a journal, they are my journals.
A last important factor is that they are usually pretty, girly and flowery which I think inspires me to pick them up! So there you have it, a Buddy Book makes life easier! This is why you need one too!
